Kevin and Marcia decide together to take two!

We are delighted to know that the horses that we are saving are very desirable and thanks to the caring people that have found us, they are going to have the very best of love, care and training.

When we got a call from one of the top trainers in the country, we were more than excited to show off our available horses. Kevin Sadler was then part of the Dennis Reis Universal Horsemanship team that tours giving clinics and training around the country and is featured on RFD-TV. He was personally in the market for horses, to train, but more importantly, Kevin is a true horse lover and he and his fiance Marcia plan on keeping their babies forever.

Kevin could not wait to come visit, Marcia his fiancee, was out of town on business that weekend, but Kevin came just to check things out first at the ranch. This very handsome couple was looking for horses together and Kevin was pretty sure he had found what he was looking for.

"Marcia will be back on Tuesday," Kevin told me, "she might be upset that I came without her!" When Kevin brought Marcia out and introduced her to me, I told her how Kevin would have rather waited for her. She was sweet about it all but the problem was that she had to work over the weekend and would have rather been looking at horses with Kevin.

So Kevin promptly showed her the horses that he was interested in. There were 3 that had caught his eye, Elvis, Cavalli and Tanner. Marcia thought they were all cute but not having been part of the decision, she commented that all Kevin ever owned were black horses. "Can't we pick another color? Look at all the options here!"

Marcia made her way into the herd and fell head over heels for a tiny AQHA grulla filly that we had named "Dolly," (aka Turtle). Turtle was a love bug in every way, her little doll face and personality made her one of the farm favorites. She was already halter broke as she had visited the magic stall many times to help gentle a few others.

"This is my baby, Kevin, and you need to pick one with color. Kevin looked over and pointed to Remmington, a red bay roan stud colt that we had watched turn from brown to roan when his winter coat started to shed.

"OK, then I want Remmington." Kevin stated.

I am not sure I like roans," Marcia chimed in.

"Well I do," Kevin admitted. "How much is the roan?"

The couple went home to discuss things. A few days later they were both back, Marcia petting all over Turtle and Kevin admiring Remmington. At first Kevin had had an interest in 3 or more, but the two that they had picked were both registered and well bred Quarter horses so their prices were a bit higher. "We'll just take these two, Kevin informed me. Knowing very well Kevin's ability to train horses I agreed. Turtle and Remmington would be theirs.

In the meantime Kevin is busy with the new ranch facilities in RIverside California where Remmington , now renamed "Rio", and Turtle, now renamed "Carioca" live. They are together in a new horse heaven with trainer/owners that will take excellent care of their physical, and emotional needs.

We could not be more pleased to have met Kevin and his lovely fiance Marcia and to help them find two wonderful but very displaced horses to call their own. We wish you both much happiness together as a human/horse family!
