Horses listed below are available for sponsorships, many are also adoptable!

  • The adoption prices are based on the original costs of saving the horse along with transport and fees associated with bringing the horse to safety.
  • Our horses are vaccinated, wormed and often trained, prior to finding an adopter. Adoptions are based on these costs, with consideration of the training invested along with fair  market values as many of our horses are registered, purebreds.
  • Our sponsor to adopt program,  is a great way to get to know the horses prior to any commitments. You can train with you chosen horse under our lesson training program and take proper time to make this very important decision.
  • If you are sponsoring with the intent to adopt a particular horse,  we will honor your commitment for as long as possible.

My name is Devon.   I am coming on 3 years old, and I am looking for someone who wants a very cute horse in their life.  I promise to adore you, if you promise to give me a forever home where I will never worry about feedlots, auctions, or mean people who want to eat me!    I am a solid black Canadian bred gelding, with a beautiful coat and wavy mane and long flowing tail.   I am not too big and not too small - I am just right!

By sponsoring me you can help the farm deter a monthly cost of hay and board for $200.00 a month.  For an additional $200.00 you can put me in basic training.     My adoption fee is $2,000.00 and I expect to find my special person really soon!

MY NAME IS OLIVER !

THIS IS WHAT HORSE HAPPINESS LOOKS LIKE!

Thank you, Canyon Creek for saving my life!

Sponsored and in Training with intent to adopt by Shannon and Paul!

My Name is Elton.  Sir Elton, if you don't mind.  I would like to be treated like the royal highness that I was born to be.   Long ago,  before this horse meat/horse hormone "thing"  was discovered.  Now me and a whole herd of Royal Canadians are just fortunate to still be alive!

Because I am so absolutely, stunningly beautiful,  I am your dream horse.  Please just sponsor me before anyone finds out that I do not have a pretty princess plating my long locks every evening after the sun sets. My brothers are wondering why my mane is so extra curly and quite frankly, I am afraid they might be plotting to chew it off! I have been assuring them that I am indeed,  wanted and  deeply appreciated and loved...  and that I am being secretly cared for by a fairy princess who can only visit after midnight when all of them are fast asleep!   I am adoptable and my fee is $2000.00 BUT Dreams do come true and my fairy princess, Shannon suddenly appeared in person one afternoon with a huge carrot and a knight in shinning mercedes and together we are all going to drive into the California sunset - Boy are my brothers jealous now!

Silly Rabbit, Carrots are for horses!
And that carrot you have in your mouth was mine!

Hello America, I am Alexander "THE" Great, and it would be GREAT if you understood a little of my family history. Upon boarding the trailer from Canada, my Father turned and whinnied to me, "My son, seek thee out a kingdom equal to thyself; Canada has not room for thee." And it was on that day that the trailer, carrying me and my 16 brothers (and of course one sister, Savanna, who could very well be Queen Latifah from another herd sire all together!) arrived here in paradise, that is otherwise known as the Kingdom of Actonia Californicopia. Here we have found sanctuary in a land of many Kings and one Queen where we are feed and cared for by humans with smelly stuff their hands and a song in their voices that sings as they speak, "Hello I Love you.." "Here have another carrot, no this is an apple!  Eooo,  have you ever tried watermelon?" "Umm,  yummy look - new peach flavored wormers!"    Alexander is adoptable fee is $2000.00

Will you please get me out of here! This people are horse crazy!

Chance, sponsored with intent to adopt, thank you Conny!

Theron

Oh, It's Sleepy Time again, because I am getting tired of waiting here for you to show up and ask to see Theron. No horse could want a home more than me. I want a home so bad that I might just hold my breath until someone comes.

OK I'm holding it now.... Did they mention that I am solid black and very gentle? You are going to be sorry if you miss out on me! I'm still holding!!! My adoption fee is $2000.00 Please Hurry!

Murphy's Irish Stout

I am a blazing red Chestnut gelding coming on 3 standing approximately 15.2 hands and ready to be your dream come true! I am an excellent mover. I would make a wonderful hunter prospect but I would do whatever you want. I am trusting and honest and looking for that special someone to come up and tell me, I'm the One! My adoption fee is $2000.00 I come with no bad habits or bad training experiences, I am yours to gentle and train correctly and if you are new to horses invest the time in learning to train me in our sponsor to adopt program at Canyon Creek. Together we will be a forever team. Ask to see Murphy!

Savanna!

It's me Queen Savanna. I am the Queen. I am in charge - and that is all that you need to know. Somebody has to keep the peace in this group and of course it would have to be the female. Just wanted to let you know that should I grace YOU with my presence when you come to the fence, to see my brothers, that YOU must be someone very special. I already am special I am a beautiful Bay Roan with a heart shaped face and my head is not only beautiful but filled with something that many beauties are lacking, a brain!

With that said, I really need someone to convince me WHY I even need an "owner", as it stands now, all I have to do to get practically anything I need or want, is to pull back my ears, position my rear in the direction of whatever brother is not paying attention and squeal like a banschee. Should that fail I will proceed to kick my way towards my goal that is usually the feeder otherwise known as my throne. So get out of the way - in my country it's still ladies first!

My name is Tammy, I am Belgian/Quarter horse and I have quite a story, please read about me and my last baby, Treasure, who was taken away by a very bad group of people. It was such a horrible mistake and I am lucky to be alive, but I am sad everyday I think about my loosing my little Treasure.

She would have been 3 years old this summer and getting ready to be ridden like the other 2005 babies that we saved here, from my farm. Canyon Creek paid for her and tried their best to get her back because she was coming with me on my journey to safety! We will never forget you Treasure - please sponsor me give me something to do, so I can heal my heart and find a reason to go on.

I have not found anyone who loves me for just me. I have a dear horse friend Feralynn Black, here staying with me and everyone falls in love with her. Someday I might have to find another friend because Feralynn is so wonderful and not shy or sad like I can be at times.

I am shy often around adults, but I love children - they remind me of all the babies that I had when I was a PMU mare in Canada. I hope someone that has children or grandchildren would come and fall in love with me and take me to a beautiful grass farm or a carrot farm. I am lovely to look at and if you are kind and gentle I might even decide to give you a ride someday... Umm, but maybe not, without some more training I might be here forever... but Canyon Creek promised me that they would care for me forever - please help these kind people who saved us all. I am adoptable, but only to the perfect forever home and we strongly suggest that best friends get to stick together, so with consideration of my happiness would you also look at the lovely Feralyn Black as well? And by the way, my fee is $3000.00

Easter

Hello Easter here! My goodness couldn't somebody think of a better name? I mean, I know I arrived to Canyon Creek with a halter wrapped around my neck during Easter week, but really!

Come on now sponsor me and you can change my name!

I am a very gentle, lovely lady, I adore humans. I am ready for you to find me! I am a pretty filly with a flaxen mane and tail and I am halter trained and needing someone to keep me going forward, could that be you? I am up to date on all my shots and trims and worming... I am adoptable my fee is $2,500.00

Feralynn Black!

My name is Feralynn Black. My name was given to me in Canada where I birthed many foals and made a lot of money for a drug company. Every year My babies were ripped away from me and I was immediately pregnant again. I can not remember a time when I was not pregnant, so I am very relieved to be here. At Canyon Creek Farm I have found sanctuary and people to adore me for just being a beautiful mare. I am available and adoptable my adoption fee is $3000.00 and will increase with more training.

Sponsored with intent to adopt by Jennifer.

Peanut, I am looking for my special someone... is that you?

I am Peanut. What can I tell you except I once had a potential adopter but it didn't work out. I realized how nice it was to have someone special. I for once had a car come down the drive and someone getting out just for me! I was very sad when the car stopped coming, but I understand that no matter what I will always have a home here, I just got a bit spoiled and I loved it!

I just never realized that I needed to step up to the fence and ask for my special someone. So many of my siblings had taken wonderful photographs and so many people came to the farm and asked to see them, and when they saw them, they fell in love with them and adopted them! It would happen all the time! But I had this silly photograph and this silly name! They named me Peanut because I was a tiny little thing when I came into the world just like most horses. Oh yes, I was more than cute, but unfortunately I had this photo of me with my tiny tongue hanging out like I just got a mouthfull of sour milk and no one ever took another photo of me! Some people felt sorry for me because of this, and well, of course my herd all laughed because they had really cool names. But I want you to know that I look like a thoroughbred and that you can always find me squeezed in around the feeder with the big boys, because I don't like to eat with the weenies or the sisters. So what I am trying to say, is that I am here and my time is now, and if you are thinking about adopting a really special horse then that would be me! Thanks for all your time, Mr. Peanut. Still looking... and I know when it happens again it will be so perfect and worth the wait! I am up on shots, trims, wormings and I am a lovely gelding who is schooled in Parelli. I am adoptable, my fee is $2000.00 and I am waiting for you. Love Peanutty

I am the beautiful, amazing, wonderful, brilliant, Jackalynn Parr. I come from afar. I am glad to be here and I am now a lesson horse as well. Dag, can I tell you that is so much mo' better then being a PMU mare and standing in the barn with this rubber pulley device hanging off my hiney for 6 months?

Well they so adore me here, and of course you can see why! They feel special just to be in my beauty. I eat up all the attention and also eat them out of house and home -- I basically just love to eat. But then don't most horses? I think that is where the saying, "eat like a horse" comes from. Not like you might want to eat a horse or anything that gross! And, I used the word "like" as in a preposition, you know, a similarity... Did anyone mention that I am a highly intelligent mare? I spend a lot of my spare time with my nose in a book. Right now I am enjoying Clinton Anderson's latest work. Soon after that, I thinking of reading something lighter such as the "The Tao of Equus", yes, that is something that I'll probably breeze right through... As you see, I am costing this rescue a fortune, please donate to my education and well being! Thank you!, Jackalynn - you can call me Jacky. I am not adoptable I am part of the program. I am priceless!

Rockette,

Well here I am enjoying myself in good ol' Action, California - where the heck is Acton and where the heck have you been? I was adoptable but that was a while back before my training started and everyone noticed how amazing I was. Yes I am a lesson horse and a good one at that. Come watch me give the intermediate adopters lessons and if you would please consider sponsoring me. I would love to have some special someone coming to pet me and brush me and adore me when I am not busy teaching people to ride! My Name is Rockette but I am a double Peppy San bred mare with an attitude. I am not adoptable I am part of the program. I am priceless!

KC

Ditto Rockette! I would like someone special too. Oh don't get me wrong, they love me here, matter of fact I am the beginner lesson horse and wow do they ever give me a workout. Bouncy, bouncy, bounce! I am so tolerant and good that I am guaranteed to get a hug and a treat but what I wouldn't do to have a sponsor to look forward to sending me special treats and love for just being good ol' KC Poco Bar Bailey. I am not adoptable, I am part of the program. I am priceless!

Dylan, Solid Chestnut Paint Colt!

I am a beautiful, solid chestnut, registered breeding stock paint gelding that is looking for a forever home. I am gently being started and need a special someone to tell me, "I am the Apple of their eye!"

Come give me love and attention, please - I am getting lonely! I am adoptable, my adoption fee is $2000.00

Batman

Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na - Na Na Na Na Na Na Batman! Guess what my name is and guess what I get to be on Halloween? Really, please come sponsor me and give these people some original ideas! By the way part of my herd is here we are all Spotted Draft Cross! I am not adoptable I am part of the program. I am priceless!

INXS

Am I stunning? Am I a dream horse? You tell me, because in Canada, I could have ended up in a very bad place because there are so many horses born every year. Not all of them look like me, but some do. I am a Spotted Draft Cross and it took the farmer a long time to get beauties like us on the ground.

When I arrived to Canyon Creek Farm, in Dec 2005, I came with 8 other PMU mares. We were the last delivery of the year, and it was very close to Christmas, so the greatest present ever was of course having Canyon Creek Farm save our lives, and then many of us were able to be reunited with our babies! I was reunited with my baby, India who looks just like me (below). India screamed at the top of her lungs, when she was brought to my pasture! "Mommy, Mommy, it's me!", she cried! I looked down to see my baby girl and tears started running through my mane. We were so fortunate and here we are together forever and safe at last.

I am the famous "Spirit Tail" the horse in the Canyon Creek Farm poster that shook off all the spirits in the dust when I arrived. I was formally known as mare #99. Canyon Creek Farm has named me INXS because of my beauty.

My sister is also here - she was mare #98 now known as Obsession.

MY daughter India is the farm's logo mascot. You can sponsor us but we probably will never go anywhere except to parades and shows... we are true examples of the beauties that would have otherwise met an unfortunate fate in the hands of the killer buyers. We are the farm's dream horses and you can be part of showing us off and honoring us and the others like us that we are going to save with your help! I am not adoptable, I am part of the program. I am priceless!

India the farm mascot logo dream horse. Just 3 years old and sassy! This dream filly is really something, please be a part of her life and help us train her to be all that she can be! To honor and prove that PMU horses can be dreams come true! I am not adoptable. I am part of the program. I am priceless! Please be my sponsor!

obsession our lovely Spotted Draft Cross Mother to Gandolf

Obsession, dreamy and such a mover. INXS and Obsession are performers as their training in the arena continues these two beauties would love to show the world what they are made of!

I am not adoptable. I am part of the program. BUT you can be a part of my exciting life - Please be my sponsor!

What can be said about this little mini who was rescued off the feedlot in Canada!

His story speaks volumes as to the value of horse meat!

Napoleon Dynamite is a mighty example and spokes horse he is our farm mascot who wants to show the world that it's not nice to eat our pets!

Please sponsor Napoleon here. We have promised him a lifetime of love and care and a mini cart so we can spread the love far and wide through the country side! I am not adoptable. I am part of the program and I am priceless! Please be my sponsor!

I am Morgan, But I am a quarter horse stud colt. Not looking forward to the day that the Doctor comes back to take care of that! I need attention and I need someone to sponsor me so that I can get over my fear of people.

I am a stunning mover. I am so athletic that I would be suitable for just about any sport, even dressage or reining as I can really get under myself and go! Come into the paddock with a halter and see for yourself!

I am registered, foundation bred, black bay. You won't miss me when you come to the farm, but you won't kiss me either. Not unless you want to help me! I am adoptable my adoption fee is $1,800.00
